New Pride Board: All White, Two Women
The three remaining San Diego Pride board members have brought on three (3) more members and now the six-member Board of Directors is an all white board with four men and two women. I guess no blacks, latinos or Asian-Americans need apply. Though the Pride board can have 20 members, it’s apparent that this board does not believe in diversity or true community representation.
Word is that some of the prospective board members were asked if, once on the board, would they vote the three remaining “controversial” members out! While almost 50 GLBT community members have applied to be on Pride’s board, only three were selected, thus leaving the original three members (Princetta, Karim and Worrell) still retaining power and control.
San Diego Pride Board Chair says controversy is “burning out”
I’ve been receiving countless calls from visiting Pride organizers from all over the western United States, Mexico and Canada here for the CAPI Conference. I was given a copy of a correspondence that San Diego Pride Board Chair Philip Princetta wrote to a conference attendee in which he states “the local controversy is burning out“ and that he [Princetta] is like “timber wood, standing tall and firm against the windy storm.” Princetta’s correspondence also alluded to some members of San Diego’s GLBT community as “suffering from ADD.”
The recipient of Princetta’s correspondence and I agree that he has become totally delusional. By the way, there will be picketing of the CAPI Conference aimed at the San Diego Pride Board tonight at the Sheraton Mission Valley Hotel (1433 Camino del Rio South, 92108) where the CAPI welcome reception has been moved. Another protest has been scheduled for Saturday during Pride’s Taste of San Diego event.

A few weeks ago, I reported about a young call boy who was secretly making sex tapes of his encounters with prominent San Diego men. I received a call from a local well-known and popular TV news personality who told me that he’s concerned that he is one of the targets and is expecting a tape of him to appear on the internet soon.
