Abi has opened additional production facilities at its Starodvorskiye Kolbasy plant in Vladimir, Russia. The opening ceremony took place on 8 August 2024. The company put investment in the project at RUB 8.8 billion, according to the regional government's announcement reported that day by Interfax. The factory has a stated capacity of 500 tonnes of finished products per day.
New production buildings and staff facilities
Vedomosti reported on 16 August that the complex includes three-storey production premises and a seven-storey office building, with a total area of 33,000 square metres. Most equipment is domestically manufactured, including components replacing imports. The report put expected employment at more than 2,000 new jobs.
Local outlet 33 News described changing facilities and a staff cafeteria with free meals in its opening-day account. It also reported Governor Alexander Avdeev's statement that the region was encouraging livestock development, including the revival of industrial pig production in Slednevo. He presented this activity as an opportunity for cooperation with food manufacturers.
A two-project investment programme
Chief executive Tatyana Trifonova said the factory was one of two projects in Abi's investment programme. The programme began in 2021 and covers complexes for sausages, frozen semi-finished foods and fully prepared products. The company described a planned increase in annual production from 400,000 to 700,000 tonnes, with several thousand additional jobs. The reported four-year investment programme totals RUB 26 billion. Trifonova told Vedomosti that the first factory was open and the second was expected to follow shortly.
- The new Vladimir factory's capacity is expressed per day.
