Chobani plans approximately $1.2 billion of investment over five years in an Allentown, Pennsylvania, manufacturing and warehouse campus. It will acquire Keurig Dr Pepper's existing facility, opened in 2021, for $125 million. The expanded campus is planned to cover 1.5 million square feet and create more than 900 jobs. Up to ten production lines are envisaged. At full capacity, annual sourcing is expected to exceed three billion pounds of Pennsylvania milk.
The New York processing project
On 22 April 2025, Chobani announced groundbreaking for a separate $1.2 billion dairy processing plant in Rome, New York. The proposed 1.4-million-square-foot facility occupies a 150-acre site associated with the former Griffiss Air Force Base. The company expected more than 1,000 full-time jobs, with production capacity exceeding one billion pounds of dairy products annually. Up to 28 production lines were planned to process approximately 12 million pounds of milk per day. The announcement described partnerships with farmers, businesses, colleges, universities and government organisations to support innovation and workforce training.
The Idaho expansion
At a 19 March 2025 groundbreaking, Chobani described a $500 million expansion of its Twin Falls facility in Idaho. Reporting published the following day said the project would add 500,000 square feet, bringing the plant to 1.6 million square feet and 24 production lines. Chobani expected a 50% production increase and at least 160 additional jobs, alongside an existing workforce exceeding 1,200. Its stated regional investments included $1 million in a University of Idaho dairy research facility and nearly $500,000 in student scholarships. Expected milk purchases for 2025 approached two billion pounds.
The distribution partnership's origins
On 15 December 2023, Chobani announced its $900 million acquisition of La Colombe. Financing combined a new $550 million term loan, cash and the exchange of Keurig Dr Pepper's minority holding in La Colombe for Chobani equity. The coffee business was to retain its independent brand. The announcement described plans to use Chobani's retail execution, marketing and cold-chain capabilities for multi-serve products, while KDP's sales and distribution agreement would extend single-serve reach. La Colombe already served retail, cafés, foodservice and direct-to-consumer channels.
- La Colombe: an acquired coffee business and distribution partner.
- Rome: a separately announced dairy processing plant.
- Twin Falls: expansion of an existing production operation.
