The Johor inauguration

Mosca inaugurated its Ulu Tiram facility on 10 June 2025. Maschinenfabrik Gerd Mosca operates the complex, marking its third Malaysian expansion since 2009. Chief executive Timo Mosca linked the opening to international growth and partnerships. The company described hiring Malaysians, training employees at its German headquarters and providing opportunities for people with limited access to education. Malaysian Investment Development Authority chief executive Sikh Shamsul Ibrahim Sikh Abdul Majid welcomed the manufacturing and workforce investment.

The earlier expansion agreement

In February 2024, Mosca announced an agreement with developer WB Land for a larger final-assembly plant for automatic strapping machines at Frontier Park in Desa Cemerlang. The programme then envisaged doubling the workforce and relocating from a forty-thousand-square-foot factory to premises of 103,458 square feet on a 2.245-acre plot. Timo Mosca said the new plant would expand production of machines and systems. WB Land managing director Kevin Woon described the building as ready for solar energy. The developer's industrial park covered 136 acres and included 189 semi-detached and detached factories, alongside security and worker accommodation.

Strapping and transport protection

Mosca's Asia-Pacific brochure describes an equipment portfolio for securing cardboard products, furniture, appliances and palletised freight. Its technical descriptions include:

The company describes staff training after equipment delivery as part of its service. Mosca Asia was established in Singapore in 1997, providing a regional base for sales and after-sales support.

Technical exchange across the group

Mosca's sustainability report published in December 2024 describes a fortnightly discussion between strap-producing companies in Germany, the United States and Malaysia. Its global machine-development engineering team met at the same interval. Department heads exchanged information with employees daily or at least weekly. The company also described training videos followed by quizzes and documentation for selected subjects, including due diligence. The report principally covered German entities for 2023, with international subsidiaries included in selected areas.
