The earlier large-format production stage

A Kommersant report by Yulia Garipova dated 7 June 2023 described a separate oversized-glazing project costing 2.2 billion roubles. Its equipment processes 3.3-by-12-metre glass through cutting, mechanical treatment, tempering, lamination, digital printing and assembly into glazing units.

Managing director Anton Voitsekhovich said that reaching design capacity would increase complex architectural-glazing production by 150,000 square metres to 550,000 annually. The report recorded 50 jobs created, including 32 classified as highly productive, and identified shortages of personnel in the company's account. These were the earlier project's parameters.

Financing before that expansion

The South Ural Chamber of Commerce and Industry's 15 December 2022 statement, reproduced by Russian Business Guide, described a visit to the factory during a regional business forum. Modern Glass had joined the chamber in 2018. The statement reported investment exceeding €15 million over the preceding three years and borrowing from the fund in 2018 and 2022.

It dated approval of a 1.6-billion-rouble reconstruction loan to March 2022 under the Priority Projects programme. The proposed equipment would manufacture architectural glazing units, laminated glass and monolithic glass up to 12 metres long.

A supplier's preceding product development

A supplier for the earlier project was Larta Glass. In a separate Interfax interview reproduced on Larta Glass's website on 4 June 2024, chief executive Elena Rassudimova described coated glass exceeding nine metres, alongside extra-clear glass, in the manufacturer's expanded assortment.

That account dated the first 46-tonne shipment of coated oversized glass from the Krasny Sulin factory to April 2023. Modernization preceded the new product; the factory's earlier largest format was 7.3 metres. Rassudimova's stated 2024 objective was further architectural and interior products based on extra-clear glass.
