A preliminary target for 2025
Ormatek aims to produce 16,000 products a month at its Rostov factory in Russia by the end of 2025, director general Anton Bogdanov told RBC on 8 April. He described the target as preliminary. Monthly production in 2024 was 12,000 products, while potential capacity stood at 20,000. The company intended to focus on training production and management staff rather than expanding its southern infrastructure immediately.
The original factory proposal
RBC's 10 July 2023 report described plans to open the factory that autumn. The initial investment for the first stage was 150 million rubles. An agreement had been signed at Innoprom in Yekaterinburg, according to the regional investment agency.
- Ormatek leased 13,200 square metres in A2 Group's logistics park in the Aksay district; equipment installation was under way.
- Bogdanov, then deputy director general, forecast 800 additional mattresses daily, against the company's existing daily output of 3,200.
- The project was expected to create 300 jobs.
The investment agency's subsequent assessment
In a 31 May 2024 RBC interview, regional investment agency head Igor Burakov described Ormatek's new Aksay production as an established project with substantial scope for expansion. He expected investment to exceed one billion rubles in the near term. He linked domestic mattress manufacturers' development to the space left by IKEA's departure, citing estimates of a 30–40% mattress-market niche. Both the investment expectation and the market assessment were Burakov's statements at that date.
Reported output for the preceding year
A 14 March 2025 RBC report, citing Bogdanov's interview with Gorod N, said monthly mattress production had tripled during 2024 to 12,000 units. Furniture output doubled to 2,000 units a month. Earlier plans envisaged 16,000 mattresses and 4,000 furniture items monthly; the company attributed the shortfall to higher borrowing rates. The report put investment in organising production at 300 million rubles. Those March figures distinguish mattresses from furniture, whereas the April account gives its comparison and preliminary target in products.
